Because we believe
in quality.
This is the reference for how Tristone UK looks, sounds and shows up — for anyone producing marketing materials, technical documentation, or fabricator-facing content on our behalf.
Why choose Tristone UK
The three cornerstone objectives of our business are to provide high quality products and services at competitive prices.
Over the years, we have refined and perfected the Tristone colours we offer. With over 70 Tristone colours now in UK stock, choosing the right colour for your Tristone creation has never been easier.
Quality
Fire rating: the manufacturer confirms that the BS EN 13501-1 classification of B-s1,d0 is current for our baseline product, Pure White. Write the rating exactly as “B-s1,d0” and quote it for Pure White only; check with marketing@tristoneuk.com before claiming it for any other colour. The older “Class O” (BS 476) wording is no longer used in England and should not appear in new material.
- Euroclass B-s1,d0 reaction-to-fire classification (BS EN 13501-1) — applies to Tristone Pure White; see note above
- GreenGuard Certified
- Made in Korea

What we say
How we describe the product, and how we sound doing it.
Voice and tone
Two principles guide how Tristone UK writes, in any format — web copy, spec sheets, CPD material, or social posts.
1. Reference competitors indirectly, never by name. Comparative claims are framed against "the market" or "leading brands" as a category, not against a named competitor. This keeps claims defensible without inviting direct disputes.
"Save up to 40% per sheet compared to leading brands on the market."
"Save up to 40% versus Corian and HI-MACS."
2. Technical, but accessible to everyone. Copy should hold up for a fabricator or architect who wants precision, and for a first-time enquirer who doesn't know the category yet. When a technical term is necessary — fire ratings, thermoforming, GreenGuard — keep it in, but make sure the surrounding sentence carries enough plain-English context that no reader is left behind.
"Tristone™ is GreenGuard Certified — independently tested for low chemical emissions, so it's a safer choice for indoor air quality."
"Tristone™ is GreenGuard Certified." (technically correct, but meaningless to a non-specialist reader)
A quick test for any piece of copy: would this make sense to someone who has never heard of solid surface material, and would it still hold up under scrutiny from someone who specifies it for a living? If either answer is no, it needs a rewrite.

Logos and brands
Flat designs and simple colours keep our brand name and product prominent in our media.
Company logo — Long and Tall variants
Use the Long variant for wide or horizontal spaces — headers, letterheads, website navigation. Use the Tall variant for square or vertical spaces — signage, narrow print columns, social avatars.
Mark-only logo (triangle logomark)
The triangle mark can stand alone where the full company logo would be too small to read. It is the same mark already used as the Tristone UK website favicon.
- Use it for: website favicon, social media avatars, app and browser icons, and small items such as merchandise or engraved marks
- Use the full company logo (Long or Tall) wherever there is room — the mark alone does not name the company
- Minimum size: 12mm in print and 32px on screen. Below 32px on screen the white gaps between the triangles begin to fill in (the 16px favicon size is the one exception)
- Clear space: keep at least a quarter of the mark’s height free on every side, as for the full logo
- Never re-colour, rotate, separate or re-draw the triangles. Always use the supplied artwork; request it from marketing@tristoneuk.com
Do's and don'ts
When using the Tristone by Lion Surfaces logo, the branding must be clear and the focal point of the media produced for the Tristone Solid Surface product.
Use the correct logo for your company.
Make sure the logo is the most prominent part of any media promoting Tristone Solid Surfaces.
Stretch, distort, angle, or remove/modify parts of the logo.
Removing or modifying parts of the logo without consent from Tristone UK is not permitted, and misuse or misrepresentation of the Tristone by Lion Surfaces brand, name and logos is not permitted. Use of the Tristone by Lion Surfaces logo is permitted pending review by Tristone UK. For a high-resolution image, contact marketing@tristoneuk.com.
Use marketing@tristoneuk.com for logo and branding requests, and hello@tristoneuk.com for general enquiries.
Clear space
A minimum clear space keeps the logo legible and prominent wherever it's placed.
The space around the logo should be at least a quarter of the logo's height (x) on every edge. If you're uncertain of placement on your media, contact marketing@tristoneuk.com for guidance.
Minimum size
Tested directly against the master logo file: the "SOLID SURFACE SOLUTIONS" subtitle is the first element to break up as the logo shrinks, well before the main wordmark becomes unreadable. Based on that test:
- Print: never smaller than 30mm wide
- Screen: never smaller than 150px wide
This applies to the total width of either variant (Long or Tall). If a layout can't accommodate the minimum width, drop the "Solid Surface Solutions" subtitle rather than shrinking the whole lockup further — the triangle mark and "TRISTONE UK LTD" wordmark stay legible well below 30mm on their own.
Trademark and credit lines
When using the Tristone by Lion Surfaces logo in any form, credit lines must be added to both online and offline media. List only the trademarks actually used in your materials, and use this copy the first time the logo or product name appears:
Required credit line
---
"Tristone by Lion Surfaces and its logos are registered trademarks of Tristone UK Limited in the United Kingdom."
Place credit lines wherever you provide legal notifications — they should appear only once per piece of media or per website. In UK-distributed communication, the trademark symbol must follow the first mention: Tristone™ by Lion Surfaces or Tristone™ Solid Surface.
Misuse of the product logo, or use of its likeness to imitate or mislead customers and end users, may result in legal action to protect our brands.
Partner and co-branding use
Design rules for placing the Tristone by Lion Surfaces logo alongside a fabricator's or partner's own branding. Commercial terms of any partnership sit in the individual fabricator agreement, not here — this section covers layout only.
Relative size
The Tristone by Lion Surfaces logo must never appear smaller than the partner's own logo in any shared material. When placed side by side, keep both logos visually balanced in weight — a useful check is that neither logo's cap height should exceed roughly 1.25× the other's.
Spacing
Maintain a minimum gap between the two logos equal to at least the clear space defined for the Tristone logo (see Clear space above — a quarter of the Tristone logo's height). A vertical divider rule is optional but never required.
Place logos side by side, evenly spaced, at a balanced visual size, each with its own clear space.
Merge the two logos into a single lockup, overlap them, or let a partner's logo outsize or crowd the Tristone mark.
Credit line and trademark symbol rules (above) still apply in any co-branded material. For questions on a specific layout, or for anything beyond these design rules — including commercial terms of a fabricator or partner relationship — contact marketing@tristoneuk.com.
Colour palette
Our core palette is taken directly from our logos. Click a swatch to copy its hex code.
Tristone UK red (#991B1E) is our primary reference colour, based on the company logo, and is used across the majority of our branding and colour selection choices. Lion Surfaces red (#86171A) and the alternative red (#881B1E) are both secondary reds, used on occasion.
Typography
Montserrat is the default typeface for offline branding and marketing materials.
Ratio enim nosta consentit, pugnat oratio.
If Montserrat isn't already installed on your system, it's available free from Google Fonts and most third-party font providers.
Secondary typeface — Lato
Lato has been used previously alongside Montserrat and is confirmed here as our secondary typeface.
Montserrat is the dominant typeface across all Tristone UK branding and communications. Lato is used only as a fallback, in the specific situations where Montserrat is not available — for example, email clients, or documents built on a system without the Montserrat font installed.
Ratio enim nosta consentit, pugnat oratio.
Lato is freely licensed under the SIL Open Font License, available via Google Fonts, and safe to embed on web and in documents without a separate licence purchase.
Photography
Original and creative images should be used to illustrate familiar themes. Your first point of call should be the Tristone UK gallery — permission must be sought before using any content from the Tristone UK website.
If using your own photographs
- In focus, with good lighting
- Feature the Tristone product — avoid stock photography where possible
- Where stock photography is used, ensure it's properly sourced and licensed
- 300 dpi minimum for printed materials, at the size they're reproduced
- You are responsible for permissions from the original photographer and from anyone featured in the shot
- Credit external photography where applicable
- Never copy images from the internet without permission — this has legal implications
- Content or product colours from competitors' websites are not recommended or endorsed by Tristone UK
Inspiration mood boards
Tristone UK publishes inspiration mood boards on its social channels (Instagram and Pinterest) to show a colour in the context of a finished room. Two formats are in use. Keep new boards recognisably part of one of these series.
Format 1 — Titled collage
- Title in Montserrat Bold, capitals, in the form “[ROOM] USING TRISTONE ‘[COLOUR]’ SOLID SURFACE MATERIAL”, top left
- A tall sample of the featured colour at the left, as the anchor of the board
- Overlapping photographs: the installed product plus accessories, tiles or finishes that complement the colour. One photograph is “taped” at the top right and a small one “paper-clipped” at the bottom left
- Three colour chips (light, mid, dark) drawn from the palette of the board
- Footer: “TRISTONE UK” at the bottom left and “INSPIRATION MOODBOARD” at the bottom right
- Off-white board background, with fine black keylines around each photograph
Format 2 — Search-bar tile grid
- A grid of rounded-corner photograph tiles on an off-white background, with no title or footer
- The centre tile is a pill-shaped “search bar” reading “Tristone [Colour]”, with five colour dots beneath it taken from the palette
- The surrounding tiles mix installed photographs of the colour with complementary accessories, materials and finishes
Across both formats: name the product colour (and code where known) in the post caption, and use only photographs you have the right to use.
