Solid Surface Composition:
Tristone is an acrylic solid surface made from natural minerals, high-performance acrylic resins, and pigments. This mineral-based composition creates a non-porous, hygienic, and durable material that is resistant to moisture and bacteria. Its ability to be thermoformed and joined seamlessly allows for limitless design possibilities, making it suitable for a wide range of applications, including countertops, sinks, wall cladding and more.
Composition
70% natural minerals for strength and stone-like appearance.
~30% high-performance acrylic resins for flexibility and resilience.
Engineered to be non-porous, hygienic, repairable, and seamless when fabricated.
Solid Surface comparison to other materials usually used to fabricate wardrobes:
Compared to MDF (Medium-Density Fibreboard)
MDF surfaces often need painting or laminating for durability; Tristone’s surface is inherently strong and long-lasting.
Unlike MDF, which cannot be repaired once damaged, Tristone can be refinished to look like new.
Compared to Plywood
Plywood needs finishing materials (laminate, veneer, or paint) for aesthetics, whereas Tristone is both structural and decorative.
Tristone is heavier but offers seamless finishes that plywood cannot achieve.
Compared to Solid Wood
Solid wood is natural and timeless, but it is prone to scratches, dents, and warping with changes in temperature or humidity; Tristone is dimensionally stable.
Wood requires polishing, sealing, or varnishing over time; Tristone requires minimal maintenance.
Tristone provides a contemporary, uniform finish, while wood is unique but less consistent.
Pricing:
Cost Advantage - Tristone is priced at 40% less than other popular solid surface brands - offering the same value without sacrificing quality or performance.
Mid-Range Affordability - Tristone delivers cost-efficiency similar to or better than mid-range stone alternatives like granite and quartz. It typically falls into a moderate price bracket, with material costs comparable to engineered options and significantly lower than premium natural stone installations.
Long-Term Savings - Its durability and ability to be resurfaced means fewer replacements over time, translating into real long-term cost savings
Price Comparison to MDF, Plywood and Solid Wood:
MDF – Much cheaper upfront, but less durable. Tristone costs more, yet saves money long term as it can be refinished instead of replaced.
Plywood – Mid-range in price. Tristone is higher initially but doesn’t require extra finishing and lasts longer without warping.
Solid Wood – Among the most expensive options. Tristone can be similar in cost or cheaper than premium hardwoods, with lower maintenance over time.
